Protection of water sources with green and sustainable technologies in India
Constructed Wetland
Duration: 2012–2016
Duration: 2012–2016
This project has been funded by EU 7. Framework Programme. It joined 10 EU and 11 Indian partner organisations. The aim of the project was to improve water recycling and sanitary situation in selected Indian regions. The projects demonstrated natural, sustainable and economically viable technologies following zero discharge methodology.
LIMNOS experts designed and constructed a constructed wetland near the Aligarh university compound in India. The facility is used for demonstration and load testing for achieving positive effluent results.
The selected design of the constructed wetland is a hybrid system (»french» and »vertical»), where the first is loaded with raw waste water to mineralise sewage sludge, the latter is used for water purification. Purified water is collected in a pond.
