The project is a part of EIP initiative.[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_post_nav in_same_term=&#8221;on&#8221; prev_text=&#8221;Previous&#8221; next_text=&#8221;Next&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_post_nav][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;3_5&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Vsebina&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>Content<\/h3>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">In the EIP GREKO project (concluded 2022) LIMNOS has successfully designed and implemented 5 different constructed ecosystems in the drainage ditches, that prevent or mitigate agriculture run-off pollution of surface waters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">Based on nature&#8217;s self-cleansing abilities the solution represents a sustainable approach to reducing the environmental burden on water resources. Monitoring results confirmed the effectiveness of TSS removal, efficiency on different locations is proportional to the relative value of the parameter (EC, COD, TSS, N-NH\u2084\u207a, N-NO\u2083\u207b, P-PO\u2084\u1dbe\u207b). Run-off is led to a filter, where it flows calmly through a co-natural system greened with common reed (Phragmites australis). Probes located at this location measured the water level in the surrounding land and its impact on crops. A beam with a capacity of 25 PE is placed in the ditch and represents a comprehensive sustainable system for reducing polluted surface water and protecting water sources. \u00a0Monitoring of the installation proved high efficiency (organic matter (-96%), as well as N-NH\u2084+ and N-NO\u2083- (over 70% reduction), TSS (77% pollution reduction) and P-PO43\u00a0 (70% pollution reduction)).<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.limnos.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/greko_grabnar_portrait.jpg&#8221; alt=&#8221;Projekt GREKO, Grabnar&#8221; title_text=&#8221;Projekt GREKO, Grabnar&#8221; show_in_lightbox=&#8221;on&#8221; use_overlay=&#8221;on&#8221; overlay_icon_color=&#8221;#8cc63f&#8221; hover_overlay_color=&#8221;rgba(0,0,0,0.4)&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>The system of the built ecosystem consists of five parts: sedimentation basin (intended for interception and sedimentation of coarse particles); subsurface cleaning shaft (according to the principle of plant treatment plant), open water surface cleaning shaft (aerobic treatment), subsurface flow cleaning shaft and open water surface cleaning shaft. The entire system is 150 m long. Due to the placement of the measure, the reclamation ditch will not lose fluidity and drainage function.
