CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS
Constructed wetlands (CW) imitate the self-cleaning ability of nature.

Their characteristics are:

  • reduction of nitrogen, phosphorus substances, heavy metals and other toxic compounds, and bacteria,
  • removal efficiency up to 90 %,
  • cost-effective construction, performance and maintenance,
  • no need for energy or mechanical equipment,
  • easy to set-up and maintain,
  • nice fit into the local environment.

Constructed wetlands treat:

  • sewage (settlements, tourist centers, natural parks),
  • technological waste water (industries, farms),
  • landfill leachate (municipal landfill sites),
  • non-point sources of pollution (highway run-off, agricultural run-off),
  • tertiary waters with the potential for reuse (irrigation, fire fighting).

Working with nature to protect the environment.
